Who do you provide services for?I currently see people aged three to young adults (about 24 years old). I work with a variety of issues including adjustment/ life changes, behavior concerns, Anxiety, Trauma, Depression, and ADHD. *As a solo provider, I do not have the ability to work with those who are considered higher risk as I cannot provide the support that may be needed. This may include active suicidal ideation, past attempts or hospitalizations, or those that may need lots of support outside of weekly sessions. These clients may be better served at a clinic that has a team approach such as Strong Behavioral Health.

What to expect? We will start with a 15 minute consultation phone call to make sure that it is an appropriate referral at which time if we both decide to proceed will set up our first session. The first session is a time for me to get to know your child and your concerns. I will probably ask a lot of questions to find out more. I will also talk about diagnosis and treatment planning with you. After the first session, I am very flexible about how sessions are run and we will work together to figure out the best plan. I typically start with weekly or every other week sessions as this allows for the building of the relationship and getting more in the moment help. As things progress, frequency of sessions will decrease. Therapy can be hard at times and is not an overnight process but consistently coming and using what was discussed will hopefully lead to positive outcomes.

What hours do you see clients?I see clients starting at 12 pm on Monday through Thursday. My last session of the day starts at 5 pm. This means that after school appointments are limited and popular. I do not guarantee anyone an after school time and am unable to accommodate other times. Sometimes coming to see me is more important than school. * Please keep in mind that the first appointment needs to be during the day unless extenuating circumstances.

What if parents are divorced/ Separated? It is my policy that if you share 50/50 custody that both parents sign a consent form and if possible come to the first session at least. I will not set up the first appointment until both parties have signed. When the forms are signed then one parent can reach out to set up the appointment. Both parents have equal access to me and I encourage both to participate as much as they want. If there is an ongoing custody battle, I am unable to provide any statements about custody/parental fitness and it is typically in the client's best interest that I am not involved in the custody battle. Your child will not feel comfortable talking to me if I am going to turn around and speak to a lawyer or the court. If there is too much conflict, I may need to enforce stricter boundaries to protect the best interests of your child.

What is your cancellation policy?I require people to cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If canceling less than 24 hours in advance or completely no show you may be charged a $100 fee to the credit card on file (unless an emergency). This is because the appointment time is saved for you and prevents me from being able to schedule someone else. If you no show/ late cancel three times you may be terminated. If you frequently miss afterschool times you may be required to schedule during school hours as these are very popular time slots.
